Kingdom Equation: Your $20 This Fall Will Change Lives!

Posted in Church Planting on November 14, 2012 by Waypoint Church Partners

We are pleased to announce the Kingdom Equation Fall 2012 project. It is designed to help three new churches take their next step. Crossings in Roanoke and Venture in Danville, already helped with KE funds for launch, and Catalyst in Morgantown are all doing well in their first year but we want to assist them to the next level. Since community service is a core value of all of these churches, this project will meet a vital need and show the heart of these church plants to the people in their towns.

Your KE contributions for Fall 2012 will go to prepare and distribute 30,000 meals to the three communities. Generosity::Feeds ( will provide the expertise, bulk food and equipment, and each church will provide volunteers to prepare and distribute 10,000 meals. Your funds, along with some matching funds from churches, will purchase the food.

Food insecurity is a significant issue in all three localities, and each of these new churches will be able to take the lead in their area to help meet that need. They will enlist volunteers beyond their church, locate a site for the preparation, and distribute the meals through schools and other partner agencies.

During this season, as we appreciate the blessings we have received, each of these new churches will make a significant difference in the lives of scores of local children, providing them with meals and creating opportunities for great conversations about the love of Jesus.

We are hard at work planning for more new church plants. Watch for the Spring 2013 announcement of the next location of your Kingdom Equation partnership.

Sometimes Joy Comes Via E-mail

Posted in Waypoint Services on November 14, 2012 by Waypoint Church Partners

It’s always encouraging to hear how the work of the VEF has directly impacted congregations across Virginia. We got this e-mail today and joy fills our hearts to know that we could help in a real, effective way.

VEF Friends,
You “made our day” when you approved Reedswood Christian Church for a no-interest loan five or six years back. The relief your decision afforded us cannot be overstated. None of us knew at the time the tight economy about to envelope us. It was your loan program that permitted us to remain current in the primary mortgage with a local bank and with you. It has been a fast few years. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the service you provided us in the original building of Gloucester Church of Christ in 1982 and with the expansion of that building more recently. We are but one of many churches regularly assisted and blessed by VEF.
Thank you from the Reedswood family.
God’s blessings on VEF and her dedicated workers,
Dave Thornton, on behalf of a most grateful Reedswood Christian Church
